We just got back from the grocery store (11pm) and it seems we are now stocked up for the weekend’s cravings. At Cracker Barrel, Cheri spotted a box of Moon Pies… so that’s now on the kitchen table (minus one). Any good Southerner knows a Moon Pie should go with an RC Cola. However Cheri latched onto Diet A&W Root Beer. The grocery store had a sale on Godiva ice cream (two for $5, both now in freezer). Add an extra slice of watermelon and I think we’re set for the weekend!

Baby is certainly making its presence known, though only Cheri can currently feel it. Apparently whenever she has something with sugar, it’s not long before baby wakes up and dances for a bit.

Dinner time at Cracker Barrel is not all that unusual for us. What is unusual is when Cheri contemplates skipping dinner and going straight to dessert. Honestly, I can’t remember the last time we had dessert out. Fortunately Cheri resisted and had chicken fried steak with green beans and carrots. Then we hit the mall for a quick bit of shopping in the Motherhood store. After filling one bag and walking around the mall, it was back to Cracker Barrel for that much-desired dessert.

Cheri hollered this morning, saying “Come put your hand here. Feel that?” It seems Baby decided to let it’s satisfaction with the morning pancakes known by dancing around a little bit. This was the first time Cheri really felt Baby moving around inside. Maybe in another week or two Dad will be able to feel movement too.

The monthly doctor visit has come and gone. Everything looks like it’s supposed to. Heartbeat has slowed down a bit.. now around 150. Yeah, the Doc came and got the daddy out of the waiting room for that part. It appears Cheri has a sinus infection, so (baby safe) antibiotics are now in play. Double breakfasts are still the order of the day … er, night.

I don’t know if this classifies as a legitimate craving or not, but this afternoon Cheri demanded a chili dog! She also seems to really be wanting to eat at a Sonic, but that existed before the pregnancy, so it probably doesn’t count. Earlier this week she was thinking about Cracker Barrel (quite normal) but claims the baby vetoed that by instilling the desire for Mexican! Now the strange thing is I tried to be nice and bring home fried pickles Friday night, but they went into the fridge. Not sure how the reheating attempt went, if it did at all.

I know someone is going to ask about the color of the baby countdown calendar above. The pink teddy bear does NOT currently indicate anything specific, though it certainly does fit in with Marilyn’s “Think Pink” theme. We aren’t set either way right now.. we’re just thanking God for the blessing He’s giving us. Note the bar has both pink and blue. This was the most neutral one available. The color will certainly be changed as soon as we know something definite.

We started picking out baby stuff this weekend, even though it’s still early on. You’ll notice items in the right column that link to some of these things on Amazon.com. One of the cool things.. we get a five percent commission from any purchase made from those links.. and it doesn’t cost any more. You can also search Amazon for anything else.
